Bush Sleepout
An evening, night and morning
out in the bush park next door to Millie's place.
This park is much bigger
and has lions and other dangerous wildlife.
Driving into the park.
The ranger's gun is strapped up front and bullets are on the
windshield.
The ranger's dog.
Bushbabies on the rocks
Giraffe hide in a tree - bones were scattered below.
Stopping to watch the sun go down
Croc in the lake
Sundown
The night drive begins: first the rangers spots a snake
An interesting photo resulting from using the long-exposure night
time option whilst in a moving vehicle.
Without warning, six rhino cross right in front of us as we are
driving along. We follow them, shining the large lamp on them.
No more than three metres away, a rhino stares at us.
Back on the drive, a spiders nest in a tree.
Snake in a tree
Back to the ranger's place for dinner.
Out at the sleeping hut
Once again, looking damn cool in my sleeping bag
and head torch.
Next morning: another drive before breakfast
Our friends the rhino from the night before
Trying to get a baboon spider to come out of it's hole
Taking a walk in the bush before breakfast
